1. 100% Local Processing Guarantee

At SnapUpscale, your privacy is our absolute highest priority. Our software is built on a fundamental principle: What happens on your machine, stays on your machine.

All video decoding, smart scene detection, and AI upscaling (using Real-ESRGAN and Vulkan GPU acceleration) are performed 100% locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store any of your video files, extracted frames, or upscaled images on our servers or any third-party cloud services.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Because our application operates locally, we do not collect or have access to:

  • Your video files or their contents.
  • The images you extract or upscale.
  • Your facial data, audio, or any personal information contained within your media.
  • Your local file paths or directory structures.

3. Data We Do Collect (For Licensing)

To prevent piracy and manage your software license, we collect minimal, non-personally identifiable technical data during the activation process via our payment provider, Dodo Payments:

  • License Key: To verify your purchase.
  • Machine ID (SHA256 Hash): A cryptographically hashed identifier unique to your device. This hash cannot be reverse-engineered to identify your specific hardware components or personal identity. It is used solely to enforce the single-device license limit.
  • Activation Timestamp: To manage the 7-day offline grace period and prevent time-tampering exploits.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Dodo Payments as our merchant of record. When you purchase SnapUpscale, your payment information (credit card, PayPal, etc.) is processed securely by Dodo Payments. We do not store or have access to your full financial details. Please refer to Dodo Payments's Privacy Policy for more information on how they handle your payment data.

5. Offline Usage

SnapUpscale is designed to work offline. The application only requires an internet connection during the initial license activation and periodically (at least once every 7 days) to validate the license status against our servers. During these checks, only the hashed Machine ID and License Key are transmitted.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top.
